Dear Absecon City,

Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.

I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.

I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Description: A 17-year-old pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Route 30 near the Executive Lodge Motel in Absecon. The driver of a white 2015 Jeep Compass SUV hit the victim and fled the scene. The car is believed to have heavy front-end damage and a New Jersey license plate number L92PLY. The victim's name has not been released, and police are still searching for the driver.

Good morning,

 

This email pertains to your OPRA Request regarding a MV accident. Please
see the attached Notice of Special Service Charge provided by the Absecon
Police Department. Before the City provides the responsive records, you
are kindly requested to pay an advance amount of $496.50 which is 50% of
the total amount due ($993).

 

The Police Department will begin work fulfilling the OPRA Request
immediately upon receipt of the first payment.
