Dear New Jersey Department of Transportation,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested: Please provide the approved traffic signal timing AND the traffic signal plan from NJ DOT for the intersection of Route NJ28 North Ave East and Carpenter Place in Cranford, NJ.
The collision occurred on 08/12/2024 at approximately
7:00 - 7:15 PM.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) is in receipt of the
attached request for records under the Open Public Records Act (OPRA).
This request is being forwarded to the appropriate Unit(s) to determine if
records responsive to your request exist, and for further review of your
request in light of the law governing OPRA requests and the Department of
Transportation’s document retention policies. If this request involves an
extraordinary expenditure of time and effort, we will need to assess a
special service fee and you will be advised of such.
This will apply regardless of the method you wish to receive the records
in addition to the copying cost. Note that for any existing records
located off-site or in a storage facility, or requires extensive review,
we may request an extension of time if necessary.
Please note that we are currently experiencing a period of longer than
usual delays but will do our best to provide a response to you as quickly
as possible.
Therefore, the Department of Transportation requires an extension
until August 29, 2024.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) is in receipt of the
above-referenced request for records under the Open Public Records Act
(OPRA). As defined within the New Jersey Administrative Code (NJAC
16:1A-4.5), requests for traffic control signal records are not handled
under the scope of OPRA, therefore, this request is closed and the
official Closure Receipt is attached.
Traffic control signal records require a fee of $10.00 per timing sequence
for timing sequence records, and $15.00 per signal plan for traffic signal
plans. Please submit your request specifying the location, along with a
check or money order made payable to New Jersey Department of
Transportation for the appropriate amount. This payment is to be sent to
