Please be advised that the tax list for 1965 is archived in microfilm format in the public room of the Tax Board, and cannot be reproduced by ordinary document copying, but available to the public for their inspection and copy during ordinary business hours.

Our public room is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and we are located in the Ocean County Courthouse, 118 Washington Street, Toms River, 2nd Floor (Room 215). You do not need an appointment to view and copy microfilm.

However, for the staff of the tax board to retrieve and copy the voluminous documents requested would require an extraordinary expenditure of time and effort, and a substantial amount of manipulation of information technology. In addition, the Tax Board is in the midst of the tax appeal season. Complying with your request at this time, prior to conclusion of the tax appeal hearing season, would substantially disrupt agency operations. The Tax Board anticipates completing hearing and determining appeals by the end of June, 2022.

In view of the foregoing, if you wish for copies to be made this would include, in addition to the actual cost of duplication, a special service charge based on the actual direct cost of providing the requested copies, and the cost of labor for the personnel required to search the microfilm reels, identify the pages requested, print out the copies, and then scan the copies into email. A required deposit of 50% of the anticipated cost must be paid in advance.

Finally, we will not be able to complete the project until late July 2022, once personnel is freed up from managing appeals.
