Surplus/Excess Funds transferred to TFU
Dear Monmouth County Sheriff's Office,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
Deposits to the NJ Superior Court Trust Fund Unit resulting from Surplus/Overage monies after tax foreclosure sales; Tax surplus list; overages that have not been claimed; tax lien sale surplus funds that have not been redeemed; Delinquent tax Properties that went up for auction and sold with overages/surplus funds that have not been claimed; Tax foreclosure surplus property sales of unclaimed funds; Tax Foreclosure Property Sales. This list should include the APN of each foreclosed property, the Court Docket or Filing number, the date of sale of foreclosed property, the date of transfer of surplus/excess funds to the NJ TFU, and the amount of surplus/excess funds to the NJ TFU.
If there is any additional information required of me, or if I have contacted the incorrect division for this matter, I would very much appreciate advice on how to proceed to acquire the information requested.

Good Afternoon,
The Monmouth County Sheriff's Office does not keep records of the surplus that is sent to the courts. We also, don't keep records of any sales that are for a tax sale. I suggest you reach out to superior court or the tax department for each town.
