State audit of Keyport Fire Department
Dear Keyport Borough,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

I would respectfully request the state audit that rcommended the disolution of the current fire dept and replacing it with a politically appointed dept and chief. Also any correspondsnce between Eagle Hose Co., the borough Fire Marshall, and current board of fire chiefs regarding yhis issue.

In response to that portion of your OPRA request seeking “State audit that recommended the dissolution of the current fire dept and replacing it with a politically appointed dept and chief,” please be advised that a draft preliminary report was received from the state regarding the consolidation of the volunteer fire companies. This draft report is exempt under OPRA as advisory, consultative and deliberative material. A final report that can be released has been requested. Permission to release the current draft version may also be requested.
In response to that portion of your OPRA request seeking "correspondence between Eagle Hose Co., the borough fire marshal, and the current board of fire chiefs," please be advised the fire marshal has responded that there is no correspondence to provide in response to your request.
