Dear South Bound Brook Borough,
This is a request under the New Jersey Open Public Records Act N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq. I am requesting that I be provided with a copy of the following records, dating back from 2018 through 2020:
1) All disclosable police records, including but not limited to 911 call logs, police incident
reports, dispatch 911 logs, arrest records, emergency request phone call records, body camera footage, and/or other recordings pertaining to the following address:
∙118 Cedar Street, South Bound Brook, NJ 08880.
2) All disclosable police records, including but not limited to: police incident reports, accident reports, arrest records, police logs, dispatch 911 logs, body camera footage, and/or other recordings pertaining to the following individual:
∙Steven Kenneth Reed (aka Steve Reed), whose date of birth is April 24, 1985.
*If the requested dates are outside the scope of your agency's records retention policy, please conduct a search of your agency's entire records for each address/individual specified. Please include all exhibits, notes, interviews, schedules, public comments, and other attachments, if any, filed concurrently with each disclosable document.
I recognize that you may charge reasonable costs for copies, as well as for personnel time needed to comply with this request. Please notify me if this request will incur fees above $100.00 in advance of the additional fees being incurred.
Please provide me with electronic copies, if available. If you determine that portions of the
requested records are exempt from disclosure, please redact the exempt information only and cite each specific exemption you feel justifies the refusal to release the information – while releasing the remainder of responsive records.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Our department received your OPRA records request, dated 03/20/2026, on 03/20/2026. The deadline for a response is 03/31/2026.
Please note that overly broad and/or vague requests, including requests that use the terms “any” and “all”, are improper, because such requests fail to specify identifiable government records. These overly broad and/or vague requests which require the Records Custodian to conduct research among all records maintained by the agency to locate and identify potentially responsive records, make such requests invalid under OPRA. See MAG Entertainment, LLC v. Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control, 375 N.J. Super. 534 (App. Div. 2005) and Bent v. Stafford Police Department, 381 N.J. Super. 30 (App. Div. 2005); New Jersey Builders Association v. New Jersey Council on Affordable Housing, 390 N.J. Super. 166, 180 (App. Div. 2007); Schuler v. Borough of Bloomsbury, GRC Complaint No. 2007-151 (February 2009). Requests for documents must identify with reasonable clarity the specific government records sought. Bent v. Stafford Police Department, 381 N.J. Super. 30, 37 (App. Div. 2005). In this matter, the terms “any” and “all” in categories 1 and 2 are broad and vague therefore an invalid request under OPRA. Please eliminate these words in the clarifications requested below.

Be advised that our department does not have records by those names or descriptions. Please clarify by providing a more detailed description of the above documents sought.
Until a clarification is received our review and response cannot be made.
Please respond before 03/27/2026 otherwise this request will be closed requiring you to submit a new request if you still want to receive records.
Upon receipt of the clarification, our department will then review and a response will be provided as required by law.
