Solid Waste collection and disposal contracts

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Wallington Borough should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Wallington Borough,

This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:

Requesting a copy of your solid waste collections contract if not serviced by your DPW. Also looking for a copy of your solid waste disposal contract with the transfer station the solid waste is delivered to. Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

Jeff Kopyta

Greg Zagaja, Wallington Borough

Jeff Kopyta-
We are in receipt of your OPRA request today 4/3/20 and it has been
forwarded to the administrator's office.

Please note the following with regards to OPRA requests:

On March 9, 2020, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy declared a State of
Emergency which has had an impact on Wallington and its vendors and
professionals. Wallington is dealing with limited staff and numerous issues
related to this emergency. Additionally, on March 18, 2020, Wallington
closed its borough offices to the public and instituted limited work hours.
Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, New Jersey pursuant to A3849 requires
custodians of records to make a ‘reasonable effort’ to comply with OPRA
requests within seven (7) business days. However, it allows a relaxation of
the deadlines in this emergency.

We are processing your request.

Respectfully,
Greg Zagaja
Deputy Clerk
