Patricia Quelch,

I thought I’d sent you an email for an extension until next Friday. It must have been one of the requests I confused due to the emails. I will forward the original request to you later today. I apologize for the mix up.

Patricia Quelch,

Dear Anonymous,

Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(g) and (i), the custodian is entitled to additional time in order to respond to OPRA requests which are voluminous and would disrupt the working of the agency if required to respond within the seven-day time period. As I indicated, your request is voluminous and involves different agencies within the County Government to gather the information requested, all of which takes time.

Further, pursuant to N.J. Builders Assoc. v. NJCOAH, 390 N.J. Super. 166, 182-84 (App. Div. 2007), certif. denied, 190 N.J. 394 (2007), your permission is not necessary for an extension when such a request has been made.

Dear Patricia Quelch,

Please comply with my OPRA request, dated May 4, 2018, that is legally OVERDUE at this point. I never received any response from you until Friday, May 19, 2018. I'm not granting any extensions especially after the legal due date of May 15, 2018 that passed already. I will be contacting my attorney to see what steps that I can pursue legally.

Patricia Quelch,

I did forward the emails to you on Saturday confirming that I had sent you an email prior to the due date indicating that the County would need additional time in which to respond. Have your attorney contact me and we can discuss this issue.

I understand your stance on the County’s need for extensions in which to
comply with your request concerning Sheriff Golden. Nonetheless, I am
informing you that the County needs additional time in which to pull
documents concerning some of the benefits and the invoices for
reimbursement.  I anticipate that the documents should be available no
later than June 8, 2018.

As a follow-up to my prior emails concerning your request for information
concerning Sheriff Shaun Golden, I have been advised for Items 5 and 6,
that the Sheriff has not submitted any vouchers for reimbursement during
2017 or 2018. Therefore, there are no responsive documents to those items.

I believe that was the last item of this request.  If I am incorrect,
please let me know to remedy the omission.

Sincerely,
