Sergeant and Lieutenant List
Dear Civil Service Commission,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested:
Current active promotional list for Sergeant for Seaside Heights Police Department.
Current active promotional list for Lieutenant for Seaside Heights Police Department.
Promotional lists at time of promulgation/release November 2022 for Sergeant and Lieutenant for Seaside Heights Police Department.
Promotions from each list from November 2022 to present.
Reasons provided by the Borough for any skips on the promotional lists from November 2022 to present.

The Civil Service Commission "Commission" received your Open Public
Records Act (OPRA) request on December 6, 2024. This response to your
request is being provided to you today.
You made the following request:
"Current active promotional list for Sergeant for Seaside Heights Police
Department. Current active promotional list for Lieutenant for Seaside
Heights Police Department. Promotional lists at time of
promulgation/release November 2022 for Sergeant and Lieutenant for Seaside
Heights Police Department. Promotions from each list from November 2022 to
present. Reasons provided by the Borough for any skips on the promotional

Please find the attached records responsive to your request. For your
request for the, "Reasons provided by the Borough for any skips on the
promotional lists from November 2022 to present." Effective May 7, 2012, a
portion of N.J.A.C. 4A:4-4.8 was repealed and the Appointing Authority is
no longer required to provide a statement of reason when a lower or tied
rank eligible is selected.
This response does not waive or limit any other rights afforded the
Commission under OPRA and the common law, which are all expressly
reserved.
