Seeking records and information for the borough of Lindenwold

The request was partially successful.

Dear New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, Division of Local Government Services,

Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.

I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.

I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Records Requested:
1. The "Annual Financial Statements" (AFS) and "Annual Audit Reports" submitted by the Borough of Lindenwold (Camden County) for the fiscal years 2019 through 2025.
2. Any and all written or electronic correspondence between the Division of Local Government Services (DLGS) and the Borough of Lindenwold Chief Financial Officer or Registered Municipal Accountant (RMA) regarding budget line-item compliance, library appropriations, or funding classifications from January 1, 2019, to the present.

My preferred delivery method for response(s) to this request is by E-mail as attachments. Please confirm you have received this request. If you are not the custodian of records, please forward my request to that person and provide their email address to me for future reference.

Yours faithfully,

Moonsrayven

Dear New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, Division of Local Government Services,

I am writing to follow up on an Open Public Records Act (OPRA) request I submitted on July 15, 2026, seeking records and information for the Borough of Lindenwold, including Annual Financial Statements and Audit Reports for FY2019-2025, and correspondence between the Division of Local Government Services and the Borough's CFO/RMA regarding budget compliance and library appropriations from 2019 to the present.

As of today, July 27, 2026, I have not received a response, an acknowledgment, or a request for an extension. Under N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5.i., a custodian's failure to respond within seven business days is deemed a denial of access absent an agreed extension.

If I have somehow missed a response I apologize for the inconvenience and would appreciate being pointed to it.

Thank you,
Moonsrayven

OPRA LGS [DCA], New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, Division of Local Government Services

Hello,

This is in response to your OPRA request. I apologize, I was out on
vacation and your email was not sent to the inbox. Requests sent from the
OPRA machine have been causing issues. It is advised that you submit any
future OPRA requests here:
[1]https://www-njlib.nj.gov/NJ_OPRA/departm...

With respect to the request, part two is an overly broad and invalid
request. “Any and all” requests seeking “records” generically, etc. and
requiring a custodian to conduct research are invalid. See MAG Entm’t, LLC
v. Div. of Alcoholic Beverage Control, 375 N.J. Super. 534 (App. Div.
2005), Bent v. Stafford Police Dep’t, 381 N.J. Super. 30 (App. Div.
2005), N.J. Builders Ass’n v. N.J. Council on Affordable Hous., 390 N.J.
Super. 166 (App. Div. 2007), and Schuler v. Borough of Bloomsbury, GRC
Complaint No. 2007151 (February 2009).

Moreover, according to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(g): "A custodian shall not be
required to complete a request, including for, but not limited to, mail,
email, text messages, correspondence, or social media postings and
messages, if the request does not identify a specific job title or
accounts to be searched, a specific subject matter, and is not confined to
a reasonable time period, or if the custodian determines that the request
would require research and the collection of information from the contents
of government records and the creation of new government records setting
forth that research and information. It shall be sufficient for a
requestor to identify specific individuals by the individual’s job title
and position."

Can you clarify on what you are looking for?

 1. Is there a specific job title or DCA account for which you are seeking
this information?
 2. Is there a specific subject matter that you are seeking in the title
of the emails that would not require the OPRA custodian to conduct
research?
 3. Is there a more confined timeframe than 7 years?

I will work on request one: The "Annual Financial Statements" (AFS) and
"Annual Audit Reports" submitted by the Borough of Lindenwold (Camden
County) for the fiscal years 2019 through 2025.

I will await your response before working on request two.

Thank you,
