Robert Rawls Crash Reports and Repair Costs
Dear New Brunswick City,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested:
1) crash reports for each of the following crashes involving Fire Director Robert C Rawls (if the crash indeed involved a city vehicle):

2) records of all damage incurred to city vehicles incurred as a result of each of the above crashes, as well as the following additional crashes:

3) records sufficient to show the costs of all repairs to city vehicles as a result of all of the aforementioned crashes (if any city vehicles were "totaled," please indicate the loss amount)

OPRA#24.09_758. Be advised, pursuant to OPRA Statute N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1.1,
certain personal identifying information are exempt from disclosure,
therefore have been redacted. Information redacted is as follows: month
and day of birth, driver’s license number and home address.
For items #2 and #3 the City of New Brunswick will need an extension to
identify and gather records responsive to your request. A completed
response will be provided on or by Friday, October 11, 2024.

Dear Requestor,
Kindly see the attached records responsive to your request, which includes
records of all damage incurred to city vehicles for the following dates:
5/18/17, 11/6/23 and 1/9/24. Any other record not provided for the dates
in question, either do not exist or are beyond the required 7
year retention period and are no longer available. The same attached
items should satisfy #3 of your request showing the total cost of repairs
and if vehicles were totaled.
