Good Afternoon Dianne,

I spoke with the RWJ EMTs , they said they are here before 6am every day and must punch in on their time clock before a certain time or they will not be allowed to punch in, they must call their supervisor if that happens , the ambulance in parked in the pole barn behind the ambulance building, it is very secure there, they do a rig check every day and then they go for coffee if they want, this is allowed by their supervisor , they must stay in their service area, they have pagers and know when there is a call, sometimes there is a second ambulance in the parking lot and that may be a supervisor, If they are not able to have someone here  RWJ will let the captain know. We have had no problems with RWJ, they have been wonderful in assisting with the transitioning from per diem to the RWJ EMT's. they answer all calls be it a fire call, lift assist, MVA, or medical emergency.

I hope this answers your questions

Good morning Carol,

Scott Davidson sent the email to me this morning. I checked with my career staff at the fire house because they do hear all 911 dispatch calls through the CAD system and they are not aware of any call in our area this morning between 6 am and 6:45 am. Are we certain that they are reporting for duty at the appropriate time daily and serving the community as promised? What procedures do you have in place to ensure their compliance with the agreement and are you monitoring their activity in the community?

Dianne,

I would like to make you aware of something that I have been noticing.

During the week, I drive past the First Aid building every morning and the RWJ ambulance is not always there at 6:00am.
This morning I went through at 6:45 and they were just coming into town on Church street. I’ve seen this several times now.

I don’t know if this is a problem or not, I just wanted someone to know in case it needs to be addressed.
It could just be a case of them responding to other calls??

Thanks,
