Revised Building Capacity of MTMS, MTHS, and Applegarth School
Dear Monroe Township School District (Middlesex),
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
Documents that show how much additional student capacity will be created after proposed expansions to MTMS, MTHS, and Applegarth School are made. These documents, which should be possessed by the Director of Facilities, should show the revised building capacity of these three buildings.
Currently, MTMS has a building capacity of 1,256 students, MTHS has a building capacity of 1,813 students, and Applegarth School has a building capacity of 255 students.
The public must be provided with the revised building capacity after all expansions are made if referendum is successful.
Yours faithfully,
Truth Seeker
I am out of the office and will respond to your email when I return.
If this is an OPRA request, please forward to Lisa Goldstein, as I am no
longer the Custodian of Records.

Dear Truth Seeker,
The Board is in receipt of your Open Public Records Act ("OPRA") request.
Specifically, your request sought:
“Documents that show how much additional student capacity will be created
after proposed expansions to MTMS, MTHS, and Applegarth School are made.
These documents, which should be possessed by the Director of Facilities,
should show the revised building capacity of these three buildings.
Currently, MTMS has a building capacity of 1,256 students, MTHS has a
building capacity of 1,813 students, and Applegarth School has a building
capacity of 255 students.”
Your request requires additional time to respond due to the need to review
potentially responsive records for confidential information and due to the
significant demands placed on the District with regard to the
exceptionally large number of OPRA requests the Board has received. OPRA
allows custodians to seek extensions of time pursuant to N.J.S.A.
47:1A-5(i). Specifically, OPRA states that “the requestor shall be advised
by the custodian when the record can be made available. If the record is
not made available by that time, access shall be deemed denied.”
Accordingly, your request requires an extension of time until December 9,
2022.
Regards,
Lisa Goldstein
