Records requested: Bodycam Footage Of Heng Shao’s arrest at Menlo Park Mall in Edison NJ on 6/12/2024

Yours faithfully, Patricia

Police OPRA, Edison Township Police Department

Ms. Patricia,

Your OPRA request to obtain the BWC footage for an incident that occurred at Menlo Park Mall on 06/12/24 has been completed and the total amount due is .40 cents. Due to citizen's expectation of privacy under NJSA 47:1A-1.1, pedigree (ie: driver's license) and police information (computer screens) were redacted at this time from the footage requested.

Be advised, when officers mute their BWC, this is not considered a redaction nor if an officer is in buffering mode (approx. first 30 seconds of BWC has no audio only visual). You will see in multiple officers videos that they were in buffering mode prior to activating their BWC. For further clarification, the following officers muted their BWC within the video as follows (not redactions):

Officer Martin BWC: Officer muted from 8m30sec - 11m and 13m30sec to end of video
Officer Bossert BWC: officer muted from approx. 3m45sec- end of video
Officer Hashmi BWC: second BWC video, officer mutes whole video (only visual)

At this time, you have been provided the following officers on scene that activated their BWC: Hashmi (2), Martin, Goldman, Bossert, Spadero.

You can pick up your records from Edison Police Headquarters Records Bureau, located on the Second Floor, open Monday through Friday 8:00am - 4:15pm. Unfortunately, the records are too large to send via email at this time.

Respectfully,

Edison Police Records
