This request shall include any documents submitted by the applicant or on behalf of the applicants and or any documentation or communications from the Divison of Fire Safety to the applicants listed above for the following certifications and/or licenses: Firefighter 1, Firefighter 2, Hazardous Materials Awareness, Operations, Technician & or Specialist, Incident Management Level 1, 2 & 3, Fire Officer, Fire Investigator, Fire Police Officer, Fire Inspector, Fire Official, Fire Instructor (Levels 1 and 2) and Drill Ground Instructor.
Since the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, Division of Fire Safety has refused to answer said OPRA request and it has 2 months, please obtain the information and provide a response. thank you

The Division of Local Government Services does not have any responsive documents. I have forwarded your request to the Division of Fire Safety who will respond to you by April 3, 2023.

The Division reviewed your request and is providing all Firefighter Certification System and Training records as are responsive to your request. Please note that under relevant OPRA law, redactions were made for Personal Identifying Information (e.g., SSN, DOB, home address, telephone number, personal email address). Please be advised that original application and supporting documentation records have been destroyed in accordance with the State of New Jersey document retention and destruction schedules, since the most recent applications for the subject individual were over 10 years ago. Accordingly, the attached screenshots from the Division's Training and Certification System comprise the Division's response to your government records request.
Upon transmittal of this email and attached records, the Division shall deem your government records request as satisfied and closed.
