Request for Records Related to Criminal Mischief #25-23887
Dear Pequannock Township,
Pursuant to the Open Public Records Act (OPRA), N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., I request access to records relating to Criminal Mischief Investigation #25-23887, which involved property damage in 2024–2025.
Specifically, I request:
The full police report for #25-23887, including narrative, supplemental reports, and officer notes.
- Any photographs, videos, or surveillance footage related to the investigation, including third-party footage.
- BWC footage recorded by officers involved in the case.
- The evidence logs / chain-of-custody records for any physical evidence.
- Internal communications (emails, memos, or call logs) between Pequannock Township Police Department members and Riverdale Police Department and Morris County Prosecutor’s Office
- Any written or recorded interviews, statements, or witness accounts taken by officers during the course of the investigation.
I Request all responsive records in electronic format, if available. If any part of this request is denied or redacted, please cite the specific exemption under OPRA law.

If your request for access to a government record has been denied or
unfilled within the seven (7) business days required by law, you have a
right to challenge the decision by the Township of Pequannock to deny
access. At your option, you may either institute a proceeding in the
Superior Court of New Jersey or file a complaint with the Government
Records Council (GRC) by completing the Denial of Access Complaint Form.

Regarding your request for public records, a copy of which is attached:
In addition to the documents previously provided:
Police reports regarding Riverdale Police will need to be requested
through the Riverdale Police Department.
The recordings will need to be reviewed for any necessary redactions. The
processing of video footage will be charged at a rate of $91.82 per hour
and will need to be paid in full by check or money order to the Township
of Pequannock prior to the release of records.
A deposit of $91.82, which represents approximately 50% of the minimum
time required for processing, by cash, check or money order payable to the
Township of Pequannock will be required to begin the processing of the
footage.
Please note the case number, and “OPRA 2025-822” with the deposit. Upon
receipt, the video you request will be queued for review. Due to workloads
and extensive review requirements, several weeks may be required to
complete the review process
Following the redaction process, the full cost of processing will be
provided, and must be paid in full prior to the release of the processed
video.
