RE: E: OPRA Request Duplicate - Request for Open Code Violations – 06/01/2025 to 09/01/2025 – Property Maintenance, Structural, Grass, Weeds, Lead Hazards (Excel Format)
Dear Armando Aguilon,
We received your recent OPRA request. It appears to duplicate your earlier submission. Please confirm if both requests are intended or if one supersedes the other.
Due to the volume of records involved, I will need an extension beyond the standard 7 business days provided by OPRA to allow for proper review, redactions, and preparation of the documents. The Township requires an extension of time beyond the initial seven (7) day response period to search for, identify, and review any responsive government records. See Scheeler v. N.J. Dep’t of Educ., GRC Complaint No. 2014-123 (Feb. 2016) (validating extension under N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(g) and N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(i) where custodian provided written response within seven (7) business days and provided specific date when records would be ready).
The Township anticipates that records readily identified as responsive to your OPRA Request 2025-00654 will be available to you by the close of business on 9/24/2025. Thank you in advance for your consideration to this matter. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
For your reference, Morris Township does not handle water shutoffs or any matters related to water service. Those inquiries must be directed to the Southeast Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority (SMCMUA) at [email address]
For future requests, please submit them through the Township’s OPRA request portal at
https://main.govpilot.com/web/public/8a7...
Using the portal helps us track and process requests more efficiently.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. Please confirm how you would like us to proceed regarding the duplicate submission.
Sincerely,
Suzanne Walsh
Township Clerk
