Dear Lakewood Township,

Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

Records requested:

I am requesting copies of all available body-worn camera (BWC) footage and any in-car dash camera footage related to the Lakewood Police Department interaction that occurred at or near Coventry Square, Lakewood, New Jersey, on March 24, 2024, at approximately 2:26 AM.

If available, I also request any associated CAD dispatch records, incident report, and event number related to this interaction.

If multiple officers responded, I am requesting the body camera footage from each responding officer present during the interaction.

If any portion of the requested records is exempt from disclosure, please provide all reasonably segregable non-exempt portions and identify the legal basis for any redactions or withheld records.

My preferred delivery method for response(s) to this request is by E-mail as attachments. Please confirm you have received this request. If you are not the custodian of records, please forward my request to that person and provide their email address to me for future reference.

As per the new statute signed by Governor Murphy for OPRA,  the State now
requires us as of 9/3/2024, that if you are submitting at OPRA via email
or you are utilizing an old form that you need to certify the answers to
the questions included on their State’s new OPRA form.
