This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
The attic of this house shows that there was an extensive fire at this address that occurred historically.
The limited information we have suggests that the fire may have actually happened as far back as 40-60 years. The property just sold by the owners at the address has been determined by that buyer to have suffered fire damage and the buyer is treating the damage as an intentional failure by the sellers to disclose a known fire condition thereby defrauding the buyer.
The Sellers state that they had no idea of any fire or associated damage in the attic or roof area, and yet, by pulling walls covering the damage, it is somewhat clear that at sometime there was a fire.

Records are requested from the following:

Police Department as to any fire at the address

Fire Department as to any fire at the address

Building Department as for any communication between the township and the owner at the time of the fire

Building Department as to any and all permits issued to install sheetrock, cover the fire damage, construct any room in the attic or otherwise address remediation of the fire damage that occurred.
