Request emails and other communications around ALL the changes to the school district.
Dear Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested:
All emails, texts, documents, payments and meeting recordings that are occurring around the changes to the district. From this data would like to understand personnel changes, zoning changes, bus change rules, salary changes, program changes or removals, and any new requirements.
Along with the requests above, I would also like to understand any changes to the superintendents salary or compensation packages.
My preferred delivery method for response(s) to this request is by E-mail as attachments. Please confirm you have received this request. If you are not the custodian of records, please forward my request to that person and provide their email address to me for future reference.

This email acknowledges receipt of your OPRA request.
After reviewing your submission, the District has determined that the
request, as written, is overly broad and does not identify specific
government records with the reasonable particularity required under the
Open Public Records Act (OPRA), N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq.
Your request seeks "all emails, texts, documents, payments and meeting
recordings that are occurring around the changes to the district" and
references broad subject areas such as personnel changes, zoning changes,
bus change rules, salary changes, program changes or removals, and new
requirements. This request does not identify specific records, custodians,
departments, subject matters, or a defined time period, and would require
the District to conduct research, analyze records, and determine what
records may be responsive to various topics of interest. OPRA requires
requests to identify identifiable government records and does not require
a records custodian to conduct research or create records in response to a
request.
Accordingly, the District is unable to process the request in its current
form.
If you wish to resubmit your request, please provide a more specific
description of the records sought, including, where possible, a defined
date range, specific subject matter, record type, department, or
individual custodians whose records you are seeking. Upon receipt of a
revised request that reasonably identifies the government records sought,
the District will review and respond in accordance with OPRA.
