Good afternoon. Kindly note that the original request was sent to the New Jersey Office of the Secretary of State on April 12, 2022, copy attached, regards New Jersey Statute §19:31-15, “Removal of name from Statewide voter registration system; change of residence.
On April 20, 2022, Ms. Rodriguez was kind to reply to my request, copy attached, advising that fulfillment of queries 3 and 4 should be directed to the respective individual County Boards of Election, as below. Accordingly, pursuant to the Open Public Records Act (“OPRA), New Jersey Statute §47:1A-13, I hereby request the following records be produced, in the original or common electronic format as described below:
1. Copy of Notice provided to voter registrant, confirming removal from the voter records for each such associated name. Where Notice was not received, confirmation of returned (unopened) Notice envelope, marked with postal codes affixed to registrant mailing address.
2. List of any corrective registrant retention action taken which may result in the subject voter being unimpeded from voting in the 2022 Primary election cycle and, thereafter, the 2022 General election cycle.

I am requesting that these records be produced in the most convenient format in keeping with the OPRA Request Submission statutes (New Jersey Statute §47:1A-5g). I’m writing this e-mail to confirm that our office has received your OPRA
Request and will begin processing it immediately I have CC-ed the Hudson
County Law Department to this e-mail to ensure that your OPRA will be
completed in a timely manner.
Our office did not receive the OPRA until Wednesday, 4/27/22; and as such
our office has up to seven business days from when we (The Hudson County
Superintendent of Elections) first received the OPRA as per NJSA
47:1A-5(i):
• “CUSTODIAN OF A GOVERNMENT RECORD SHALL GRANT ACCESS TO A
GOVERNMENT RECORD OR DENY A REQUEST TO A GOVERNMENT RECORD AS SOON AS
POSSIBLE, BUT NOT LATER THAN SEVEN BUSINESS DAYS AFTER RECEIVING THE

The seventh business day from the date we received your OPRA (4/27/22)
will be 5/6/22. If I am able to gather the findings for your OPRA prior
to 5/6/22, then I will contact you with the findings before 5/6/22. If
your OPRA (or sections of your OPRA) must be answered and/or fulfilled by
a different department, then I will forward your OPRA to the appropriate
department as per NJSA 47:1A-5(h):

them a correspondence. If our office receives any correspondence
back from the, we update the voter status. If a voter
re-registers to vote, the voter will be removed from inactive
status. If the voter neglects or fails to contact our office,
the voter stays as inactive status until the New Jersey State
Division of Elections removes for being inactive for 8 year or
two federal elections.
2. COUNTY REGISTRANT RECORDS REMOVED: HUDSON COUNTY -25,896
