Records Regarding Allegations Between Former Sergeant Douglas Arendacs and Chief Pinto
Dear Rochelle Park Township,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested:
I am requesting copies of all records related to the allegations, complaints, reports, investigations, referrals, findings, and determinations involving former Sergeant Douglas Arendacs and Chief Pinto during calendar year 2024.
Specifically requesting:
Any police reports, incident reports, supplemental reports, investigation reports, narratives, memorandums, statements, complaint forms, interviews, and related documentation concerning allegations between former Sergeant Douglas Arendacs and Chief Pinto in 2024 leading to the lawsuit.
Any Prosecutor’s Office reports, investigative summaries, findings, determinations, referrals, correspondence, charging decisions, declinations, disposition letters, or closing memorandums related to the matter.
All correspondence, including emails, letters, memorandums, and communications between the Township, Police Department, Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, investigators, attorneys, or any outside agencies regarding these allegations.
Any records reflecting whether the matter was referred to Internal Affairs, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, or any outside investigative agency, including referral dates and disposition records.
Any final findings, disciplinary determinations, resolutions, settlement records, notices of disposition, or closure reports associated with the matter.
Any body-worn camera references, CAD entries, dispatch logs, case numbers, incident numbers, or related indexing records identifying responsive records.
If any portion of this request is denied, please provide the specific statutory basis for each denial and release all segregable portions of otherwise exempt records.
