Recordings - Arrest of MCSO Michael S Grab
Dear Piscataway Township,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested:
Copies of all recordings from the call for service that led to the arrest of Middlesex Co. Sherriff's Officer Michael Grab on December 2, 2025, including 911 call recordings, police radio transmission recordings, MVR recordings, and BWC recordings.
Please confirm you have received this request. Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
Charlie Kratovil
Good afternoon,
Pursuant to Paff v. Bor. of Gibbsboro, DOCKET NO. A-3300-11T2 (N.J. Super.
App. Div. Jun 17, 2013) and N.J.S.A. 2C:52-1(a), the requested records are
exempted from release under OPRA due to an expungement order. Further, per
Fuster v. Township of Chatham, 311 A.3d 984 (2024), all recordings subject
to an expungement would only be releasable under OPRA to those that may be
involved in the incident that is recorded. Therefore this request is
denied.
Best,
Jenn
