RE: OPRA Abandoned/VACANT/Probate- Bergen County
Dear Westwood Borough,
I appreciate your consideration of the following matter. Under OPRA and the Common Law Right of Access, I am requesting a current list of records for each of the following be delivered via e-mail in EXCEL format:
1) All abandoned/vacant residential properties (Property Class 2)
2) All condemned properties
3) All residential properties with delinquent taxes
4) All residential properties for which a Lis Pendens notice has been filed or that are currently in probate
5) All properties that are absentee-owned
6) All properties with delinquent water and sewer which date back up to 1 year, including amounts owed
7) All properties currently listed with water shut-off notice
8) All properties with code violations, including the type of violation
9) All properties with notices of abatement
Again, I appreciate your attention to this matter and thank you in advance for your help.
Yours faithfully,
B. Saint-Jean
Ben -
1) The Borough does not track or require reporting on abandoned/vacant properties.
2) The Borough does not track condemned properties.
3) Delinquent tax list attached.
4) A Lis Pendens is not done at the municipal level. This request should be filed with the County Clerk.
5) We do not maintain a list of properties by owner type.
6) For delinquent water bills, contact Suez Water. For Sewer, contact the Bergen County Utilities Authority.
7) For water shut off notices, contact Suez Water.
8) This is overly broad. What type of violations are you seeking? Ultimately we do not maintain a list of properties that have outstanding violations or by violation type. You would need to provide an address, a date range, and specify the type of violation and/or the issuing department.
9) We do not maintain a list of properties that have abatements. You would need to provide an address, a date ranges, and specify the type of violation that was abated and the issuing department.
