QSAC Request
Dear New Jersey Department of Education,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Regarding part 3 of your request for "correspondence", pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(g), requests for correspondence must contain: (1) the name or specific job title/position of the sender and/or recipient, (2) a specific subject matter, and (3) a specific date or range of dates, which must be confined to a reasonable time period. Attached please find records responsive to part one of your request.
Regarding part two of your request, a preliminary search using the
parameters you identified in your request yielded over 315 emails. In
order to fulfill this part of your request, the OPRA custodian would be
required to review each of these emails to determine if they were
responsive, then conduct a review for any privileged material that needed
to be redacted or withheld, and finally conduct a review for any other
redactions appropriate under the law, such as redactions of personally
identifiable information.
Such a review would be unduly burdensome and substantially disruptive to
the DOE’s operations. Accordingly, we request that you modify the scope
of this part of your request. Otherwise, your request will be denied
pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(g), which provides, in pertinent part, “If a
request for access to a government record would substantially disrupt
agency operations, the custodian may deny access to the record after
attempting to reach a reasonable solution with the requestor that
accommodates the interests of the requestor and the agency.”
Additionally, we have not received a response to our email dated April 14,
2026 regarding part 3 of your request for "correspondence". Pursuant to
