Dear Jersey City,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Open Public Records Act reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Jersey City's handling of my OPRA request 'Public Safety Inspection Report'.
I am a tenant of this building and need to know whether it is safe to live here (155 Washington St, Jersey City). As a tenant, I am not a threat to the building's security and yet, after 7 weeks waiting, my request was denied as follows:
"Your request is denied as per N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1.1 which specifically exempts the release of records which relate to emergency or security information or procedures for any buildings or facilities, which, if disclosed, would jeopardize security of the building or facility or persons therein. Thus, your request is denied."
