The Township of Lakewood received your Open Public Records Act (OPRA)
request on 7/31/2024. As such, the seven (7) business day deadline to
respond to your request is 8/9/2024 This response to your request is being
provided to you on the 3rd business day after the custodian's receipt of
said request.
Your OPRA request sought the following:

Records requested:
Avraham Chaitovsky was arrested on July 15, 2024, after his 8-week-old
daughter was found in cardiac arrest in a hot car. The incident occurred
around 1:45 p.m. on New Egypt Road in Lakewood Township, New Jersey.
Please provide us the body cam video footage of the arresting officer.
Due to the large file size of the requested records, the records are being
transmitted to you via CD. Pursuant to N.J.S.A 47:1A-5.b, the cost
associated with this request is $5.12 including postage.
In accordance with N.J.S.A 47:1A-1 and N.J.S.A. 47:1A-9(a)-(b), redactions
have been made on the MDT screen and inside Detective Bureau offices.
Additionally, social security number, addresses, and date of birth has not
been provided in accordance with N.J.S.A 47:1A-1.1.
Please make out the check to the "Township of Lakewood" addressed to the
Township Clerk-Lakewood Municipal Bldg- 231 Third Street- Lakewood, NJ
08701. Please note the OPRA request number in the memo portion of the
check.
Upon receipt of your check in the amount of $5.12, the CD will be mailed
to you.
Please remit payment and the address you would like us to mail the CD to.
Or if you wish to pick up the record, the cost would be $0.37. Please
inform the office what date you wish to pick up the record.
If your request for access to a government record has been denied or
unfilled within the seven (7) business days required by law, you have a
right to challenge the decision by the Township of Lakewood to deny
access. At your option, you may either institute a proceeding in the
Superior Court of New Jersey or file a complaint with the Government
Records Council (GRC) by completing the Denial of Access Complaint Form.
