Dear Bergenfield Borough,

This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:

1. A list of property addresses that have received any code violations since the beginning of the year. Please provide the type of violation. (ex. Garbage in yard, maintenance issue, overgrown lawn, safety issues, risk of condemnation, etc).

2. A list of all property addresses that are currently vacant, abandoned, or boarded up.

3. A list of all property addresses that haven’t paid their property taxes in 12 months, or since 06/30/2021.

Our office received your OPRA request on July 22, 2022 for a copy of :

 

1.       A list of property addresses that have received any code
violations since the beginning of the year. 

 

2.       A list of all property addresses that are currently vacant,
abandoned, or boarded up. 

 

3.       A list of all property addresses that haven’t paid their taxes in
12 months, or since 06/30/2021. 

 

As such, the seven business day deadline to respond to your request is on
August 8, 2022.  This response is being provided to you on the first
(1^st) business day of the custodian’s receipt of the said request. 

  

The following records are being provided in their entirety and are
responsive to your request: 

 

1.       Complaints Report 2022 (1 page) 

 

2.       Borough of Bergenfield Delinquent Property Listing Report as of
July 22, 2022 (Excel) 

 

3.       Vacant Properties Report (Excel) 

  

Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5.b, there is no cost associated with this
request as the documents are being transmitted to you electronically.  

  

If your request for access to a government record has been denied or
unfulfilled within the seven (7) business days required by law, you have a
right to challenge the decision by the Borough of Bergenfield to deny
access.  At your option, you may either institute a proceeding in the
Superior Court of New Jersey or file a complaint with the Government
Records Council (GRC) by completing the Denial of Access Complaint Form. 
You may contact the GRC by toll-free telephone at 866-850-0511, by mail at
P.O. Box 819, Trenton, NJ 08625, by e-mail at [1][email address], or
at their website at [2]www.state.nj.us/grc.  The GRC can also answer other
questions about the law. All questions regarding complaints filed in
