PRHS asbestos transport manifest

New Jersey Department of Transportation did not have the information requested.

Dear New Jersey Department of Transportation,

This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I certify under penalty of NJSA 2C:28-3 that I have not been convicted of an indictable offense. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.

Records requested:

During the summer and fall of 2017, the roof at Pinelands Regional High School was replaced. This construction is still ongoing. Pinelands Regional High School is part of Pinelands Regional School District in Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey.

During this construction, it was confirmed and documented that the waste for a significant portion of the roof contained 10% chrosytile. It therefore contains asbestos, requiring an “ID number 27 non-hazardous waste manifest” in order to be properly transported.

Please provide all manifests related to this project during the year of 2017, including the names and addresses of the asbestos landfills that were the recipients of this waste. If there is no manifest, please provide the testing that confirms the material to be non-asbestos.

In case these documents are not filed under or associated to the district, here are the consultants currently being used by the district: Mike Kobithen Roofing and Insulation, and New Road Construction.

Thank you.

Jeff Epstein
