Policies and Procedures for Removal of Public Reports
Dear New Jersey Department of Education,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested:
Any written policies, procedures, directives, or internal guidance regarding the removal, redaction, or archiving of reports, documents, or publications from public-facing websites maintained by your agency.
Records identifying:
Pursuant to the Open Public Records Act (OPRA), N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., I am requesting access to the following records for the period January 1, 2019 through December 1, 2024;
1) All written policies, procedures, directives, or internal communications created or in effect between January 1, 2019 and December 1, 2024 that address the removal, redaction, or archiving of reports, documents, or publications from public-facing websites maintained by your agency.
2) The handling, retention, and future access protocols for any report that has been removed;
3) A log or list of reports removed from the agency’s public website between January 1, 2019 and December 1, 2024, including the title of the report, date of removal, and reason for removal (if documented).
If any of the responsive records exist in electronic format, I request they be provided in that form.
If this request is denied in whole or in part, please provide the legal basis for the denial and advise whether redacted access can be provided.
