Police reports from Blvd of the Eagles 2021 - Present
Dear Edison Township Police Department,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested: All Police Reports for complaints/incidents occurring at and around Edison High School (50 Boulevard of the Eagles) as well as the surrounding areas in 438 and 436 Old Post Rd from 2021 to present

A valid OPRA request requires "a search, not research." Id. As such, a proper request under OPRA must identify with reasonable clarity those documents that are desired, and a party cannot satisfy this requirement by simply requesting "at and around Edison High School as well as the surrounding areas." At this time, a search was conducted from 2021 to 12/09/25 at the following locations to help fulfill your request:
50 Blvd of the Eagles
438 Old Post Rd
437 Old Post Rd
436 Old Post Rd
A search conducted yielded over 1100 incidents amongst the four separate locations. So after further review, a service charge fee was prepared to help complete your voluminous OPRA/Common Law request to obtain the Incident reports requested. Please be mindful that many of these Incident reports would be denied under 2A:4A-60 as a Juvenile Record being that the location requested is at a high school however each incident would be reviewed and released if applicable. In order to fulfill your OPRA request, we ask for half the payment ($3,562.16) up front via certified check made out to the Township of Edison and please note in memo “ {IR reports Edison High}.” If I am able to complete the request in a shorter time frame, I will advise and I will adjust the service fee accordingly. Once we have received the payment requested, we will begin your request and I will provide you with an expected completion date and remainder of the payment upon completion.
Please advise if you want to continue with the fee at this time so we can proceed forth with fulfilling said request(s).
