Dear Tenafly Borough,

Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.

regarding your OPRA request. I received your OPRA request here in the
records office today (10/7/2025). I wanted to inquire on whether or not
you're looking for a specific case or incident that occurred within the
time frame stated in your request. If so, any names, dates of occurrence,
or incident report numbers relating to a specific incident you're
searching for would narrow down incidents and greatly aid in fulfilling
your request. Please let me know if there is a specific case you're
looking for or if the OPRA request you sent into my office is exactly what

This is Nicholas with the Tenafly Police Records Division. I received your
OPRA request that you submitted on 10/6/2025 today (received 10/7/2025).
Under NJSA 47:1A-5.C, A special service charge in the amount of $150.00 is
warranted for this request due to both the volume and the estimated amount
of time spent on this request. Second, our primary delivery method for
BWC/MVR requests is through USB drive delivery or in person pickup from
the station. The cost for delivery of a 16GB USB drive is $12.63 and the
cost to pickup the 16GB USB is $5.73. This brings the total cost of your
OPRA request between the special service charge and delivery or pickup of
the USB to $155.73 (pickup) or $162.63 (delivery).
Payment for this request is payable via check or money order made payable
to Borough of Tenafly. Please keep in mind we must receive payment for the
request prior to us mailing or handing the footage to you.
Please acknowledge whether or not you accept the parameters of this
request and will make payment in the amount of $155.73 (in person USB
pickup) or $162.63 (USB delivery). If you have any questions, don't

The New Jersey Open Public Records Act (N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq.) permits
a person who believes that he or she has been unlawfully denied access to
a public record either to file a complaint with the GRC or to file suit in
Superior Court to challenge the decision and compel disclosure. Visit the

complaint. In the alternative, you may contact the GRC by telephone at
1-866-850-0511 or by e-mail at [email address]. When you
file the written complaint, the GRC will offer both you and the public
agency non-adversarial, impartial mediation. If mediation is not accepted
or is not successful, the GRC will investigate the complaint. In some
cases, the GRC can award attorney’s fees to a complainant or impose a fine
against a records custodian. There is no fee to file a complaint with the
GRC.
