Dear Oakland Borough,

Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.

Dear Mr. Michael:
The Borough of Oakland Records Custodian has received your Open Public
Records Act (OPRA) request on 10/6/25. The seven (7) business day deadline
to respond to your request is 10/16/25.
 
Your request seeks the following records: Police Body Worn Camera Footage
of all Motor Vehicle accidents between 8-1 and 8-7-25
The Borough is in receipt of your OPRA request requesting the above
information.  The request is overly broad, OPRA does not require the
municipality to perform an exhaustive search for all motor vehicle
accidents that occurred in a weekly period. Additionally, the request
would require the Borough to determine what constitutes an “accident” and
the scope of same. Please provide specific time periods and incidents for
the Borough to determine whether it can provide the requested footage
and/or if any such footage exists.
This response to your request is being provided to you on the fifth
business day after the custodian’s receipt of said request. These records
are being transmitted to you via email,
as per your request. Your request is now marked as closed and deemed
complete.  Should you have any additional questions, please do not
