Dear Brick Township,

Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.

I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.

I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

For each incident and case listed below, I am requesting electronic copies of the following existing records:
1. Complete CAD/call-for-service records, including dispatcher notes, event chronology, officer/unit assignments, timestamps, disposition, and linked or related incident/event references.
2. All incident, offense, and police reports, including officer narratives, supplemental reports, follow-up reports, continuation pages, amended reports, and officer notes.
3. Any written complaints or statements, including complainant, witness, victim, or other written statements associated with the incident or case.
4. All attachments maintained with or associated with the incident or case, including photographs, screenshots, PDFs, scanned documents, forms, correspondence, emails stored with the case, handwritten notes, and other documentary or image attachments, together with any existing RMS, document, or attachment index identifying records associated with the incident or case.
5. Any existing log, index, RMS/CAD entry, evidence listing, metadata record, or other existing record reflecting whether body-worn camera footage, other video footage, or audio recordings exist for the identified incident or case.

I am not requesting copies of any audio recordings, video recordings, or body-worn camera footage through this request. Item 5 seeks only existing records reflecting whether such recordings exist. This request does not require the Township to create a new record, report, list, or compilation.
This exclusion does not apply to independently created still photographs, screenshots, scanned documents, or other image attachments.
If any responsive record contains exempt information, please redact only the exempt information and provide the remainder. If any responsive record is withheld in whole or in part, please identify the record or type of record withheld and the legal basis for the withholding or redaction.
COMMON-LAW REQUEST
To the extent that any specifically identified responsive record is denied under OPRA, including on the basis that it constitutes a criminal investigatory record, I additionally request access to that record under the common-law right of access to government records.
This common-law request applies to the same specifically identified incidents, cases, records, and attachments described above and is not intended to expand the scope of the records search.
