The Township of Wall Police Department’s (“Police Department”) Records Division received your Open Public Records Act (“OPRA”) request dated May 22, 2022 on May 23, 2022. As such, the seven (7) business day deadline to respond to your request is June 2, 2022 . You can expect a response on or before June 2, 2022 as required by New Jersey law N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5.

With regard to your request, the Police Department conducted a preliminary
search for responsive records. The responsive records will require our
thorough review and redaction to ensure that any confidential, privileged,
or otherwise exempt information is not inadvertently disclosed. Your
request requires additional time beyond the seven (7) business days to
fulfill due to the volume of the records and a lack of available staff. An
extension of three (3) business days will be required through the end of
business on June 7, 2022. The Police Department would also reserve the
right to request an additional extension of time, if necessary, in
accordance with New Jersey law. See Scheeler v. New Jersey Department of
Educ., GRC Complaint No. 2014-123 (Feb. 2016).

The Township of Wall Police Department’s (“Police Department”) Records Division received your Open Public Records Act (“OPRA”) request dated May 22, 2022 on May 23, 2022. In the event of a clarification or appeal, the Police Department reserves the right to raise any other ground for denial not raised in this response. The failure of the Police Department to assert an exception or privilege at this time does not act as a waiver of any grounds for denial.
