Police dispatch logs

The request was successful.

Dear Jersey City,

Please do not create a Jersey City OPRA Center account for this request. Please do not send a response that begins with "Thank you for registering with the Jersey City OPRA Center." OPRA Machine censors any log-in details that you send, so it is of no use. Please send the following documents directly via email:

This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.

Records requested:

Police dispatch logs of all incidents of police dispatched to the following addresses from 1/1/2000-present:

49 Bleecker Street
44 Poplar Avenue
47 Poplar Avenue
48 Poplar Avenue
131 South Street
32 Zabriskie Street

Again, please send my requested documents directly through email, not through the Jersey City OPRA Center account. Please do not send a response that begins with "Thank you for registering with the Jersey City OPRA Center." I could never get these records I originally requested in October 2020 that way, so please send me the records via email as I have requested for over a year.

Yours sincerely,

Dear Jersey City,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Open Public Records Act reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Jersey City's handling of my OPRA request 'Police dispatch logs'.

I sent this OPRA request on September 25, and specifically stated I did not want to get signed up to the Jersey City OPRA Center, since the website I use (OPRA Machine) censors any/all email addresses. And, as usual from Jersey City, the only response I got was that I was signed up to the Jersey City OPRA Center.

As I stated in my request, I want these records EMAILED to me via OPRA Machine. Since this OPRA request was sent on September 25, a response was due in 7 business days. It is now over a month later, and I still have no response. Please EMAIL me the requested records below via the OPRA Machine email address.

Here is my original September 25 OPRA request in full:

"Dear Jersey City,

Please do not create a Jersey City OPRA Center account for this request. Please do not send a response that begins with "Thank you for registering with the Jersey City OPRA Center." OPRA Machine censors any log-in details that you send, so it is of no use. Please send the following documents directly via email:

Dear Jersey City,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Open Public Records Act reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Jersey City's handling of my OPRA request 'Police dispatch logs'.

I have asked the custodian of records to send me the records via email. I specifically told the custodian of records to NOT send me a link to sign up or log in to the Jersey City OPRA Center. I guess the custodian of records did NOT read my email, because all Mr. Hallanan did was to tell me to do the one thing I said I was not doing. I am NOT signing up for a Jersey City OPRA Center account. Whatever links/emails/account details/etc... that you send me in regards to Jersey City OPRA Center are censored by OPRA Machine, so that is of no use. The only way I can get the records from Jersey City is if you EMAIL me them.

I have tried getting these records for over a year without any success. This was my most recent request, where I specifically said in my request to NOT sign me up to Jersey City OPRA Center. And the first response back is that you signed me up for Jersey City OPRA Center.

I hope this can reach someone besides Mr. Hallanan, and that the person who gets this will actually READ this email. Do NOT respond by saying I can access the records via Jersey City OPRA Center. I can NOT access the records that way. I hope not to keep going back-and-forth with this request, and that someone can simply read this email in its entirety and send me the PDF scans of the records that you posted on Jersey City OPRA Machine. It can't be that difficult to do, since every other town in New Jersey easily accomplishes it via OPRA Machine requests.

Please email me the records via this OPRA Machine email address. Hopefully after a year of NOT getting the records (via multiple OPRA requests), I will finally actually get them.

A full history of my OPRA request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://opramachine.com/request/police_d...

Thank you.

Dear Mr. Hallanan,

Thank you for sending the requested records. I will now be submitting a new OPRA request for some of the above-mentioned incident reports, so please be on the lookout for that request, and please be sure to send them via email, and not the township portal.

Yours sincerely,

Resident
