Police Chief Selection
Dear Cherry Hill Township,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.

In response to your recent OPRA request for "the discipline
records of all candidates involved in the selection process for
the next chief."
After careful review, your request is denied pursuant to N.J.S.A.
47:1A-10., Specifically No. 27) Personnel and pension records and
N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1.1, which exempts from disclosure "resumes,
applications for employment, or other information concerning job
applicants while a recruitment search is ongoing." Specifically:
The recruitment process for the position of Chief is currently
ongoing.
Under the statute, information related to job applicants is exempt
while the recruitment search remains active.
Resumes of successful candidates are disclosable only after the
individual is officially hired. For unsuccessful candidates, such
information can only be disclosed after the search has concluded,
the position has been filled, and the unsuccessful candidate has
provided consent.
