Please supply me with the notices which went out to all employees notifying them of their rights concerning the Janus Decision
Dear Lacey Township School District,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
Please supply me with all notices which have been supplied to the employees of the district concerning the Janus Decision and their right to stop having Union Fees/dues taken out of their paychecks.
Thank you
Yours faithfully,
RICHARD A. BIDNICK
Mr. Bidnick,
Good morning.
This email confirms that as the district’s official Custodian of Records,
I received your Open Public Records Act (OPRA) request via email on
Tuesday, September 17, 2019.
Regarding your request for "all notices which have been supplied to the
employees of the district concerning the Janus Decision and their right to
stop having Union Fees/dues taken out of their paychecks", please note
that after searching all records which might reasonably be expected to
have responsive documents, I have determined that no documents exist which
are responsive to your request.
Please also note that the Janus decision imposes no obligation on the
employer to notify employees of the decision. According to our labor
attorney, that obligation rests with the union. That said, shortly after
the decision was issued, Dr. Clark and I met with union leadership to
discuss its impact, as well as to inform leadership of their obligations.
