Thank you for your email.

The Inter Local agreement for the tax assessor would have needed to be renewed after four [4] years as required by N.J.S.A. 40A:9-148, the term of the assessor must be four [4] years.

The council authorized the mayor to execute the inter local agreement with Borough Paramus in Res. 13-194 on 12/16/2013. N.J.S.A. 40A:9-148 states the assessor's term must be four [4] years starting July 1st. Therefore there should have been another inter-local agreement executed on or before 7/1/2017.

I am unable to find the Resolution which authorized the mayor to sign the renewal inter local agreement with Paramus or the inter local agreement dated in 2017.
