On behalf of the Township Clerk, please be advised there are no records
responsive to your request as written.  Currently, your request fails to
identify with reasonable clarity the specific government records sought,
as is required by Bent v. Stafford Police Department, 381 N.J.Super. 30,
37 (App. Div.  2005).  At this time, we request clarification of your OPRA
request including the time frame you are seeking said records.  If a
request does not name specifically identifiable records or is overly
broad, a custodian may deny access pursuant to the following court
decisions: MAG Entm’t, LLC v. Div. of Alcoholic Beverage Control, 375 N.J.
Super. 534 (App. Div. 2005), Bent v. Stafford Police Dep’t, 381 N.J.
Super. 30 (App. Div. 2005), N.J. Builders Ass’n v. N.J. Council on
Affordable Hous., 390 N.J. Super. 166 (App. Div. 2007), and Schuler v.
Borough of Bloomsbury, GRC Complaint No. 2007- 151 (February 2009). The
Township currently requests and seeks clarification of your request. 
Please note, the response time clock will stop until you provide a
response to this office within 7 business days. Upon receipt of the
requestor’s clarification, the statutory response time begins anew. Should
clarification not be received within the allotted period of time your
request shall be deemed invalid and closed. 

Example of an overly broad request: “Any and all records related to the
construction of the new high school.”

Example of a valid request: “Any and all filed Annual Rent Registrations
for property located at 123 Street, Weehawken, NJ from January 1, 2024, to
February 28, 2025.”

Dear Weehawken Township,

Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA
and the common law right of access.  I am not required to fill out an
official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request
per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including
all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place
of a completed form as a valid government record request.
