Paid Leave of Absence
Dear Brick Township,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
1. Any and all Police Officers or Civilian Police Employees that since March 2018, were on a leave of absence and paid their full salary while out for anytime the duration they were out. Not included in this request is employees who took vacation and/or personal time.
2. Any and all officers suspended from March 2018 to present and the duration of the suspension. No specific details behind the reason for the suspension are requested therefore there should not be any exception under OPRA for this request.

Dear Mr. Alexander,
I apologize for the delay. You originally sent your request to the Clerk's email on August 3rd, which as shown below, you received an "out of office" response that she was on vacation.
I did forward your request to the Brick Township Police and sought the advice from our Township attorney who concluded that your request is denied based on the OPRA exemption for Personnel Record. Personnel information is exempt from disclosure under OPRA, except for the specific information set forth in N.J.S.A. 47:1A-10. The information requested does not fall within one of those exceptions.
N.J.S.A. 47:1A-10
Personnel and pension records, except specific information identified as follows:
a. An individual’s name, title, position, salary, payroll record, length of service, date of separation and the reason for such separation, and the amount and type of any pension received,
b. When required to be disclosed by another law, when disclosure is essential to the performance of official duties of a person duly authorized by this State or the United States, or when authorized by an individual in interest.
c. Data contained in information which disclose conformity with specific experiential, educational or medical qualifications required for government employment or for receipt of a public pension, but not including any detailed medical or psychological information.
