OPRA Requests, Monmouth County Sheriff's Office

Good Morning,

The Monmouth County Sheriff's Office is in receipt of your request. As I'm sure you are aware this is a voluminous request and would require at least a week of work, and therefore incur a fee of $1980. That fee is one weeks salary of the lowest paid employee who is qualified to complete the OPRA request.
Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

Regards,
Cynthia Scott

OPRA Requests, Monmouth County Sheriff's Office

Again, this is still a very time consuming OPRA. Information from the requester needs to be redacted and compiling the OPRAs is a task. Is there anything you are looking for specifically that I can assist you with? What if I provide you with OPRAs regarding the law enforcement division for the requested dates? Those OPRAs are easier to redact and compile and not as time consuming as OPRAs that include 911 calls. Just to clarify the responses are already redacted, it's the information on the OPRA requests that need to be redacted and then compiled in a separate file.

Cynthia Scott

Catherine Kim,

Good morning Ms. Coombs:

Please be advised this office represents the County of Monmouth (“County”)
as Special County Counsel. The County’s Records Custodian received your
Open Public Records Act (“OPRA”) request on March 9, 2020. The County is
responding to your request within seven (7) business days after receipt of
your request as required by New Jersey law. See N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5.

Considering the current coronavirus pandemic effecting the State of New
Jersey, the normal business operations within the County have been greatly
affected. Access to the County buildings are limited and many employees
are working remotely. Therefore, the County will need a 30-day extension
to respond to your OPRA request. The new due date is April 20, 2020.

Thank you,
