Harmony Township received your May 28 , 2020, Open Public Records Act (“OPRA”) request on May 28, 2020. The undersigned official records custodian received your OPRA request on the same date. Typically, I endeavor to respond to these types of record requests immediately. That aside, this response/clarification has been timely emailed to you on May 28, 2020.

With respect to your request, please be advised that Harmony Township neither has a police department nor has it entered into a shared service arrangement with another municipal police department; thus, there are no records responsive to the subject OPRA request. Harmony, which utilizes the services of the New Jersey State Police (“NJSP”), does not make, maintain, keep, or receive any of the requested records, and does not have access to the records through any department, professional, or personnel. The NJSP is a totally separate and distinct entity with its own records custodian and process to obtain records under OPRA. If your request for access to a government record has been denied, you have a right to challenge the decision to deny access.
