The request was successful.

Harry Langer Esq

Dear Records Custodian:

Pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., including N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(f), and the common-law right of access, please accept this written request submitted through OPRAmachine as a valid OPRA request. This request contains the information required for a written OPRA request, and I am not required to complete a separate agency-specific form as a condition of submission, processing, or response.

For clarity, I am not submitting this request for use in any legal proceeding, and I have not been convicted of any crime.

Please provide the following public records concerning the criminal matter identified below:

State v. Karl V. Taguinod
Indictment No.: 24-01-00013-I
CDR No.: W20230001241915 / W-2023-000124-1915
Police Case No.: 2023020086
Incident Date: August 22–23, 2023
Charging Statutes Referenced in NJ Courts Records: N.J.S.A. 2C:33-3A(1)(A), N.J.S.A. 2C:12-3A, and N.J.S.A. 2C:12-3B

Records requested:

Any public indictment sheet, indictment cover sheet, indictment return sheet, true-bill record, or other public record reflecting the date on which Indictment No. 24-01-00013-I was returned, filed, or true-billed;

Any public record identifying the charges/counts contained in Indictment No. 24-01-00013-I, including the statute, degree, and count description for each count;
Any public complaint-warrant, complaint-summons, CDR, charging document, or complaint-level record associated with CDR No. W20230001241915 / W-2023-000124-1915 and Police Case No. 2023020086;

Any public disposition sheet, case-status sheet, diversion-status record, suspended-proceeding status record, therapeutic-status record, compliance-monitoring record, or other public record reflecting the current or final public status of the matter;
Any public record identifying the prosecutor assigned to the matter, including any public appearance sheet, case-status sheet, or disposition record reflecting the prosecutor of record;

Any press release, public statement, public case summary, or other public-facing record issued or maintained by the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office concerning the August 22–23, 2023 Sussex County Community College bomb-threat incident involving Karl V. Taguinod.
For clarity, this request seeks existing public records only. It does not ask the Prosecutor’s Office to create a new record, answer interrogatories, conduct legal research, or provide narrative explanations. If a responsive record contains the requested information, please produce that existing record.

This request should not be construed as asserting that Mr. Taguinod has been convicted of any crime. An indictment, charge, diversionary status, suspended proceeding, therapeutic-status entry, or compliance-monitoring entry is not a conviction.

This request does not seek grand-jury minutes, juror votes, internal prosecutor work product, confidential law-enforcement investigative materials, confidential mental-health or treatment records, or secret grand-jury deliberative materials. To the extent any responsive record contains exempt material, please redact only the exempt portion and produce the remainder, identifying the specific legal basis for each redaction or withholding.

If any responsive record is maintained by another public agency or court office, including the Superior Court Criminal Division, please either forward this request to the proper custodian or identify the specific office, custodian, and contact information for the agency believed to maintain the record.

Please provide all responsive records electronically through OPRAmachine or by email. If no responsive records exist, please state that in writing.

Respectfully,
Harry Langer.

Christine Szymanski, Sussex County Prosecutor's Office
