OPRA Request – Records Involving Monica Tene (DOB 08/26/1996) and VIN
Dear Union Township Police Department,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under the New Jersey Open Public Records Act (OPRA) and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per N.J.S.A. 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I have not been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I will not use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I am not seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

I am requesting access to government records related to a criminal incident or incidents involving:
• Individual: Monica Tene
• Date of Birth: August 26, 1996
• Vehicle Identification Number (VIN): 2HKRW2H53MH639158
Specifically, I am requesting the following public records, limited to any matters involving the above-listed individual and/or vehicle, particularly regarding incidents of theft and subsequent pursuit(s) that occurred between April 10, 2025, at 12:00 AM and April 13, 2025, at 11:59 PM:
1. The case number(s) assigned to any investigation(s) involving the above-named individual and/or vehicle.
2. Incident reports.
3. Arrest reports.
4. Copies of complaint-summonses or complaint-warrants issued.
5. Any available body-worn camera footage that depicts or captures the alleged theft incident involving this individual and the referenced vehicle, prior to the vehicle’s departure.
6. Any available patrol vehicle camera (dash cam) footage depicting or capturing a pursuit involving the above individual, vehicle, and/or referencing a pursuit arising from a suspected shoplifting incident.
7. Officer narratives and supplemental narratives relating to the above incident(s).
This request is not intended to be overly broad, as it is limited to a specific person, vehicle, incident type, and date range. To the extent any portion of this request is unclear, I am willing to clarify or narrow it. If any portion is denied, please cite the specific exemption relied upon pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-6, and produce the remainder of the responsive records.
I am requesting electronic copies of all records, where available. Please acknowledge receipt of this request and advise if there are any fees associated with fulfilling it.
