Sent 3:42 PM 2/12/2026
Dear Wall Township Police Department,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested:
May I have a copy of any OPRA request for documents from Michael Shelton and all documents returned to him for any OPRA request he submitted.
The time frame is 2/1/2024 - 2-12/2026.
Regards,
Betsy Cross
My preferred delivery method for response(s) to this request is by E-mail as attachments via a PDF(s). Please confirm you have received this request. If you are not the custodian of records, please forward my request to that person and provide their email address to me for future reference.
The Township of Wall Police Department’s (“Police Department”) Records Custodian received your Open Public Records Act (“OPRA”) request dated February 12, 2026 on February 12, 2026. As such, the seven (7) business day deadline to respond to your request is February 25, 2026 (please note the Township was closed on February 16th and February 23, 2026). The Police Department is responding to your request within seven (7) business days after receipt of your request as required by New Jersey law. N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5.
In compliance with your request, the Police Department conducted a good faith search for responsive records. Due to the volume of the request and a lack of available staff, your request is taking longer than anticipated. Additionally, the potentially responsive records require our thorough review and redaction to ensure that any confidential, privileged, or otherwise exempt information is not inadvertently disclosed. See Scheeler v. New Jersey Department of Educ., GRC Complaint No. 2014-123 (Feb. 2016). An extension of seven (7) business days will be required through the end of business on March 6, 2026.
Sincerely,
