OPRA Request - Open Enforcement Records
Pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act (OPRA), N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., I am requesting an electronic export (CSV or Excel preferred) of all OPEN and UNRESOLVED Code Enforcement, Property Maintenance, Zoning, and or UCC enforcement records or case listings maintained by Fair Lawn Borough.
Please include, if available, the property address, block and lot, case, notice or complaint number, violation type and or code section, status (open or unresolved), date issued or opened, last action or inspection date, and the department responsible (Code, Building, Fire, or Zoning).
If a single consolidated report is not available, please provide any existing report or export from the system or systems used by the Borough, including but not limited to SDL, Edmunds, GovPilot, or similar platforms, that reflect open or unresolved enforcement records.
If any portion of this request is denied, please provide all non-exempt portions and identify the statutory basis for any redactions.

PLEASE NOTE: Effective September 3, 2024, the New Jersey Open Public Records Law (OPRA) have been updated.
N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(f) and N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(g)
All OPRA requests provided on September 3, 2024 or thereafter, must include the following answered questions:
Under penalty of N.J.S.A. 2C:28-3, I certify that
1. I HAVE / HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States;
2. I, or another person, WILL / WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose;
3. I AM / AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
OPRA request(s) that do not include this information will not be processed and will be returned to the requestor so the request can be updated with the above listed information.
OPRA requestors that refuse to include the above listed information will be reported to the State of New Jersey's Government Records Council and may face a penalty.
Please use the attached form which already includes the above or the online form at www.fairlawn.org/OPRA so we can process your request.
We will await 7 business days for your response. If we do not receive the completed request within 7 business days, we will close out your request.
