I understand that I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular platform to submit this request, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email containing all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice as a valid records request.

I have not been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I will not use the requested records for a commercial purpose.
I am not seeking records in connection with any legal proceeding.

Records Requested:
I am requesting copies of any available GIS, shapefile, KML, or other mapping data containing mile marker or mile post locations used by Spillman, ArcGIS, ESRI, or other systems maintained or used by the New Jersey State Police or related state agencies.

This request includes, but is not limited to, data covering the Garden State Parkway (GSP), Interstate 195, Interstate 295, Route 70, Route 9, and any other major highways within New Jersey.

The intent of this request is to assist multiple public safety agencies in improving their mapping and response capabilities, and to help prevent confusion on public roadways during emergencies. Accurate mile marker data (for example, “GSP 101.4 S”) would be very helpful for both the general public and first responders when linked with modern mapping tools such as Google Maps.

My preferred delivery method for the response is by email with attachments.

Please pass this on to the person responsible for conducting Open Public Records Act (OPRA) reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of the handling of my OPRA request titled “OPRA Request – Mile Marker / Mile Post GIS Data for State Highways.”

Under the Open Public Records Act, agencies are required to respond to requests within seven (7) business days. This response must either grant access, deny access, or request an extension.

To date, I have not received any response to my request. The failure to respond within the required timeframe constitutes a deemed denial under OPRA.

I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed, that a response be provided without further delay, and that steps be taken to ensure compliance with OPRA requirements going forward.
