OPRA Request for Tax Liens and Code Violations
Dear South Plainfield Borough,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
1. A list of street addresses of residential properties with tax or municipal liens
2. A list of all the residential properties with code violations that include fire damage, overgrown grass, overgrown weeds, junk, boarded houses/windows, vacant properties.
3. All condemned properties
4. All properties with delinquent water and sewer which date back up to 1 year, including amounts owed
5. All properties currently listed with water shut-off notice
6. All properties with notices of abatement

schedule of the individual that handles this matter, our Code Enforcement
Officer requires an extension of time on this request until January 13^th,
2023. If we should obtain the records you are seeking sooner, we will

Dear Vanessa,
Pursuant to your OPRA Request, please see the attached responsive record
from our Tax Collector, letter from our Fire Official, List of Vacant
Properties for 2022, and the attached responsive record from our Code
Enforcement Officer. Please be advised that our Tax Collector has advised
that no such records exist for “all properties currently listed with water
shut-off notice” as water is not maintained by the Borough but is instead
operated through private companies. Pursuant to your request regarding
condemned properties, please be advised that there are no responsive
records pursuant to your request as there is no inclusive list of
condemned properties within the Borough. Pursuant to your request
regarding properties that have been issued abatement notices, please be
further advised that there are no responsive records pursuant to your
request as there is no inclusive list of properties that have been issued
a notice of abatement.
