OPRA Request for Property Records - 802 Burton Avenue
Dear Northfield City,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested:
I am requesting access to any and all records related to the property located at 802 Burton Avenue, Northfield, NJ 08225, including but not limited to:
1. Building permits - All permits issued for construction, additions, conversions, or renovations.
2. Zoning Approvals or Variances - Any zoning decisions or variance approvals related to the property.
3. Code Enforcement Records - Any code violations, enforcement actions, or related correspondence.
4. Property Surveys or Site Plans - Any filed surveys or site plans related to structural changes.
My preferred delivery method for response(s) to this request is by E-mail as attachments. Please confirm you have received this request. If you are not the custodian of records, please forward my request to that person and provide their email address to me for future reference.
Yours faithfully,
Ron DeFelice
Good Morning -
Regarding your request for records - please provide a date range for the items in your enumerated list, 1 through 4, below. Upon receipt of this information, we can process that portion of your request, and it will be on hold until we hear from you.
Additionally, the other portion of your request: "any and all records related to the property located at 802 Burton Avenue, Northfield, NJ 08225, including but not limited to" - we can certainly process the enumerated list which follows the statement including but not limited to, but the first part of that sentence, "any and all records related to the property" is overly broad. To be a valid request under the OPRA statute, you must seek specific, identifiable government records. Requests that ask questions, seek information, or require research are not valid. This portion of your request is denied pending further clarification that identifies specific records.
Kind regards,
Mary Canesi
